Who we are
Since its establishment in 1974, the Clarks Chapel Fire and Rescue Department Inc. has been a cornerstone of safety and service for the residents of Macon County. Founded by dedicated members of the Clarks Chapel community, the department has consistently prioritized the protection of life and property, responding promptly to emergencies and fostering a spirit of collaboration and support among its volunteers and local citizens. Through rigorous training, strategic planning, and community engagement, Clarks Chapel Fire and Rescue remains committed to enhancing public safety and preparedness, ensuring that the residents of Macon County can rely on their unwavering dedication in times of need.
Clarks Chapel Fire and Rescue operates as an EMT-level service, equipped with a fleet of six emergency response vehicles. This includes one EMS/Command Vehicle, two Fire Engines, two Pumper/Tanker Trucks, and a light rescue/brush truck. Our organization encompasses two strategically located stations; the primary station is situated in the heart of the Clarks Chapel community, while the secondary station serves the Union community as well as US23 / US441. This arrangement enables us to respond promptly and effectively to emergencies within our district and neighboring mutual aid departments.
Clarks Chapel Fire and Rescue is proud to maintain a roster of over 30 active volunteer members, alongside 2 full-time paid staff during normal business hours. Our department responds to more than 500 calls for service annually, demonstrating our commitment to the community's safety and well-being. We also have a thriving junior firefighter program aimed at fostering the next generation of emergency responders. We invite community members who are eager to serve to explore joining our team, as our doors are always open to those interested in making a positive impact.
